Beyond The Boxscore -- T.J. Blanton

Periodically on the blog, we have some of our student-athletes answer a few questions that you won't find answers to in their bio. Today's guest on the blog is BGSU senior baseball player T.J. Blanton.
-----
What is your favorite moment in your athletic career? Hitting for the cycle my junior season of high school at Warren Steller Field where the BGSU Baseball coaches were in the stands and noticed me for the first time. Without that day I may have never became a Falcon and got to experience some of the success we have had the past 4 seasons.
Who is your biggest idol? My brother Jeff
Where did you grow up? Sandusky, Ohio -- or Cedar Point for those unfamiliar
What is your favorite childhood memory? I had a red power wheels battery powered Jeep that I drove around the block thinking I owned the neighborhood.
If you could play any other sport other than you are playing here, what would it be and why? Football, I was player of the year in Ohio for my division my senior season as quarterback
What are three items you can’t live without? cell phone, computer, TV
What is your favorite game that you’ve played in your career? This season against Eastern Kentucky, 4 hits 3 were homeruns and 7 RBI, one homerun was inside the park and the most exciting part was robbing a homerun in center field in the same game.
What is a fun fact about you that not many people know? I have a twitch (or more that I like to shake things) that if you are around me long enough you will get used to, and the first time you see it you will think I am crazy. It still cracks up some of the senior guys and they have seen it for 4 years.
What is your major and why did you choose it? Health Science and I have been accepted into the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Toledo.... (I know Toledo right), but I will forever be a Falcon. I chose to be a physical therapist to help people get back to a healthy lifestyle, as I have been fortunate enough to have some pretty good therapist keep me healthy and get me back competing.
If you could be someone else for one day, who would it be and why? I would be Bill Gates and write a check to T.J. Blanton for 4 billion dollars. Obvious reasons for wanting this.
