Your friendly Graduate Assistant Ryan Gasser here again... and this time LIVE from Chillicothe, Ohio for the 2010 MAC Tournament. It's been a crazy day for players, coaches and staff alike but despite all of our crazy schedules and this being my first rodeo (unlike the great Kevin Gordon of the Sentinel Tribune), I want to try to keep everybody back in Falcon Country and those unable to be here in southeast Ohio to feel as close to the action as possible. So this week I will be posting random thoughts, comments and experiences on this blog.
6:16 p.m. -- The coaching staff elected to practice in Bowling Green today, as opposed to taking the field here at VA Memorial, which delayed our departure time until 1:30 p.m. On the way down the team was nothing short of upbeat and loose. Of course while they joked, slept and watched movies the life of a SID has me cranking out releases all 3+ hours of our trip (by the way, check out the release on tomorrow's game as well as summer baseball camp info and Dennis Vaughn being named MAC East Co-Player of the Week).
We arrived at our hotel around 5:15 p.m. and for now its just a time to unwind and relax. Later tonight the Opening Ceremonies will take place at VA Memorial Stadium and is to be followed by a Welcome Reception and barbeque meal. I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty excited for the BBQ. After that, curfew is in effect because its going to be a wicked early morning. With a 9 a.m. game that means a 6:30 a.m. wake up call. Ouch!
The Falcons break the tournament in at 9 a.m. Those from home can watch the game through the ALL-MACCESS pass for a game-by-game or one-time fee OR you can hear yours truely through an internet-only, radio broadcast through BGSUFalcons.com. Of course there is always LIVE STATS, but what fun is that? You can use those to follow along as you listen or watch.
Don't forget to check back on this blog for updates all week long!
