Bowling Green had a HIGHLY productive weekend, sweeping Akron. Around the MAC, Kent State lost 2-of-3 to Miami so the Falcons now take a one-game lead in the MAC East heading into the titanic tilt this upcoming weekend between the two programs. The Falcons' attempt to win a third consecutive overall MAC title looks like this now:
Ball State 15-5 (One game left tonight with WMU)
Bowling Green 14-7
Toledo 14-7
Central Michigan 14-7
Kent State 13-8
Eastern Michigan 12-8 (Leading NIU 10-8 in the ninth)
The Falcons have gotten right back into the race by going 12-1 in the last 13 league games. Among the teams they are tied with, BGSU swept three games from Toledo but did not play Central Michigan in a league game. With six games to go, it's going to be interesting.
